Netflix introduced a password-sharing limitation
Netflix’s new “Profile Transfer” function allows users to switch to a new account without losing any of their previous activity or viewing history.
Users who use shared accounts and want to get a new account but are hesitant because of the fear of losing their information will benefit greatly from this new feature, as it allows them to transfer their entire personalized recommendation, including their list of favorite shows and movies, saved games, viewing history, and other settings.
If you sign up for Netflix’s email notifications, you’ll get an alert as soon as the function is ready.
By using this new function, you can create a new account while keeping all of your previous information.
To further discourage password sharing and attract more paying customers, the company is also experimenting with a “add a home” function that would increase monthly payments for households with several users.
