Shutterstock partners with OpenAI to market AI-generated stock photography
Today, Shutterstock announced that they would be collaborating with OpenAI to begin selling stock pictures. This is part of the company’s initiative to make the DALL-E API available to generate artificial intelligence-powered images. Once implemented, the text-to-text image generation model will allow the DALL-E to produce AI-generated artwork directly on the Open AIs platform.
Paul Hennessy, CEO of Shutterstock, told The Verge, “There is a never-ending growth and development of channels via which artists may share their work. We are aware of the gravity of the task before us to welcome this change and guarantee that the ethical principles will guide the generative technology that will drive future innovation “.
It appears that artists who create and sell photographs to Shutterstock will be completely cut off with the merger of DALL-E, which will now produce images for Shutterstock.
Despite the fact that the corporation has promised artists that “artists will be reimbursed for their contributions,” no payments have yet been made.
in keeping with the announcement made in the press.
