‘Message Yourself’ lets WhatsApp users send themselves notes, reminders, and shopping lists.

On Monday, the Meta-owned instant messaging software launched a new messaging function for Android and iPhone users. WhatsApp beta tracker WABetaInfo reported testing in late October. TechCrunch confirmed the feature’s global rollout.

When creating a new WhatsApp chat, users’ contacts will be at the top. Tapping that contact opens a chat page where they can send themselves messages.

Slack’s “Jot Something Down” section lets users write themselves notes.
