The gadget has a recycled plastic rear casing, two years of Android updates, three years of security patches, and a three-year warranty. The G22 is a budget phone with a Unisoc T606 CPU and 128GB of internal storage (expandable via microSD). It has a 90Hz 6.5-inch HD monitor. 50MP, 2MP depth, and 2MP macro sensors. It runs Android 12 but enables 20W fast charging.

The G22 represents HMD’s greener efforts. Smaller brands should give repair guides and parts like Apple, Google, and Samsung.

Gray or blue G22s will be available on March 8. HMD’s Circular subscription program offers it for £150 ($179). iFixit sells Fit Kits (tools) for £5 to fix certain issues. Displays cost £45, batteries £23, and recharge ports £19.

HMD unveiled the Nokia C32, an Android 13 phone with “stellar imaging algorithms” and a 50MP main camera. It has the best C-series image quality, according to the firm. The C32 has an octa-core, 1.6 GHz CPU, up to 4GB RAM, and 128GB onboard storage. 6.5-inch HD+ monitor with 8MP selfie camera notch. The £130 ($155) gadget will launch in the UK this spring in charcoal, green, and pink.

Nokia C22, too. Like the other new models, it has IP52 splash and rain protection, a microSD slot, and HMD-claimed three-day battery life. The C22 has Android 13, a 6.5-inch monitor, a dual 13MP camera, and an octa-core, 1.6 GHz CPU. Storage is 64GB. The £110 ($131) phone is affordable. Spring release in black and gray.

HMD also seeks European manufacturing. In a press release, Nokia stated that it is building skills and processes to bring 5G Nokia device production to Europe in 2023. HMD’s plan may be more feasible if the EU manufactures more CPUs locally rather than importing them from Asia. HMD’s environmentally friendly goal includes making phones in Europe for Europeans.
